Blog #31: Putting in the Neck
Hello everyone! I think winter is finally upon us. In the shop, I'm finishing up the binding on the head stock of a mandolin and now it's time to put the neck in. I fit it in the same way I do it on the violin. I tenon it in with a perfect fit with the mortise. A good fit is very important to the transmission of sound. The heal is a significant part of the holding strength of the neck. I am getting the fingerboard ready as well. Enjoy the pics!
Until next time,
