Blog #39: NYC Rudy's Music/Joe Val
Well.... it is the beginning of the week, and I am rounding up all my things to get ready for the Joe Val Bluegrass Festival this weekend. My wife, Kim took a trip to New York City with a friend recently to visit a few museums and pick up one of my mandolins from Rudy's Music in Soho. If you are ever in the city, this is a beautiful music store with a great selection of musical instruments-featuring one of a kind master craft instruments. (www.rudysmusic.com). Be sure to check it out! Thanks to Gordon for being such a great guy to work with. Therefore, I will have 3 very fine mandolins to show/sell at the festival . Hope to see you in Framingham, Mass! There will be a lot of really great bluegrass bands to listen to as well...

Also in workshop, Jeffrey is back working on his arch top guitar. He is a young man that I have been working with to make a guitar for a few years now. He is doing a great job and will have a beautiful guitar to play when he is finished, one that he has made with his own hands.

I will be starting a newly commissioned violin this week as well. Stay tuned in to the Blog to see the process of making a handmade violin. I am looking forward to getting started. I have the wood picked out and ready to go!
Until next time,
Martin
