Northeast Woodworkers Association

The meeting will be held at the Herman Finkbeiner Learning Center;

15 Solar Drive, Clifton Park, N.Y. 12065

Date:  Wednesday – September 7, 2016

Time:  6:00 PM

This is a hands-on course for making a mandolin.  You will complete an F-style or A-style mandolin from start to finish.  This will not be a “kit made” instrument.  The process of this class will be entirely done using hand tools.  This course will not only give you a better understanding of what goes into making a stringed instrument, but you will leave this course with a beautiful hand-crafted mandolin that you have made. The course is taught by Martin Macica, Maker of Fine Stringed Instruments. He has had 35 years’ experience making instruments like violins, mandolins, cellos and guitars.  Feel free to check out the creative process of instrument making on his website at

*Make sure you have a work space at home because homework will be an important part of this class.

If you plan to attend please RSVP to or reply to this message.  If you are interested and can’t make the meeting, let us know so we can provide you with the necessary information.

Hope to see you on board!
