Greetings from the Workshop! Okay...you are all probably wondering where I disappeared to? Well....besides being busy in the shop, summer activities with our church community and home, family visiting from out of town, and the normal activities of our daily life.... I have not had any length of time for blogging... this not being any grand excuse, but there it is. Now...to catch you up with workshop news from the last couple weeks....
As you know, I have been working on a A-style mandolin for a certain favorite mandolin player. It is going very well, and I am pleased with the progress.
Tuning the plate
Cutting Steer horn for the binding
I have also been busy working on some new A-style base models for the upcoming festival. I will have two of these mandolins to sell at my booth. I am very excited about these base models because I am delivering a quality, master craft instrument in our present slow economy that is affordable.
The A-style mandolin thus far
I am also finishing up another F-style mandolin that will be ready and for sale at the festival as well.

This mandolin will be joining the three other F-style mandolins that are all trimmed out in real Steer horn binding.
So....as you can see, I have been real busy in the workshop and am looking forward to
Grey Fox Bluegrass Festival on July 19-22. (see link for festival info)
I hope to see all you mandolin players at the festival and look forward to visiting with you at my booth.
